Why is newborn photography priced higher than a family session?

So many reasons, my friend.

The amount of time, alone, that a newborn session takes

is double that of a normal session.

Your photographer has (likely) been investing in headbands,

fabrics, and props long before your sweet baby was born

or your complimentary use.

They’ve invested in education on safe handling

and posing of your sweet blessing.

Removing the baby acne, red spots, scratches,

smoothing skin, etc. takes more time than editing say,

a maternity or family session.

In other words, newborn photography

is different than any other type of session.

From the time it takes to learn the craft, shoot the session,

invest in the pretty things, and edit the gallery.

Not everyone has the patience (or desire)

to be a newborn photographer.

But the ones that do it, love what they do.

They love this stage of life and capturing it in

its entirety which is why they invest the time and

money to learn the craft to provide you with beautiful

documentation of your sweet babe.

Keep these things in mind when you see the price of

newborn session and wonder why it’s so much more

than your last family session.

And know that with that price comes B E A U T I F U L

(and safe) pictures of your newborn.
